Where do we meet on day 1 of the Provence Tour? Back to Top
 
Depending on your tour itinerary, you will have private transfers from Paris Charles de Galle Airport or the local rail station to your hotel in Paris or if your tour is in Provence, we will meet you at Marseille Provence Airport or the Avignon TGV station.

What is the weather like in Provence? Back to Top
 
April, May, September and October, daytime temperatures in Provence range from the 70's- to mid-80's Fahrenheit with evenings being slightly cooler. June and July day time temperatures in Provence range from the 80's- to low-90's Fahrenheit with evenings being cooler. Typically it is sunny, but be prepared with proper rain gear.It is best to check the weather before packing as the weather in France can be quite unpredictable.

Airfare to and from the tour, train fare to and from the tour, trip insurance (highly recommended) and any pre or post tour arrangements. Also, any personal purchases, and any meals that are not included in the itinerary.

If you appreciate the service your local tour guide(s) provide, we recommend each individual guest provide a gratuity at your own discretion. Tipping local tour guides is customary.

Our tours are designed for travelers from the first time traveler to the seasoned traveler who would like a private, custom designed tour where everything is taken care of for you. We like to include a variety of activities and interests, customized to your interests, so you can be as active or as relaxed as you chose. Most of all, we want you to enjoy your trip and truly experience "la bonne vie" in the unique Provencal fashion.     

 

How should I go about making my travel plans? Back to Top
 

Provence and Tuscany Tours is a land only tour operator, but we will be happy to assist you with your airline tickets and rail passes if needed. We also highly recommend and can assist you with travel protection insurance for your entire stay.    

We will be happy to recommend and assist you with a pre or post tour stay in France. We will need a copy of your flight and rail reservations in order to schedule your transfers along with your final payment in order to make arrangements for your arrival and departure transfers.

Yes. All tours are conducted in English and designed for an English speaking clientele; however, all of our certified local guides are multilingual.

How should I pack? Back to Top
 
Please limit your luggage to one checked bag and one carry-on. Try not to over pack. Pack comfortable, lightweight, casual clothing. It's vacation and we want our guests to feel and be as comfortable as possible during our daily activities and excursions. We suggest that you have comfortable walking shoes for daytime excursions and also a lightweight jacket for evenings. Although it is sunny most of the time, please bring some rain gear, just in case. Also, please check with your airline about charges for checked bags.  

 

What documents will I need for my trip? Back to Top
 

All travelers to France are required to have a valid passport. Please make 2 copies of your passport and personal identification before you depart. Keep one set of copies with you in a separate location from your travel documents, and leave the other set of copies with a contact at home. If you are not a U.S. citizen, please check with your consulate general for entry requirements.

Provence and Tuscany Tours will need copies of your passport and your air and rail information before your final payment date. We also require emergency contact information at the time of your final payment. 

 

When are payments and any tour deposits due? Back to Top
  • Your initial nonrefundable deposit to confirm your tour participation is $500USD per person per tour due within 7 days of your reservation. Please keep in mind that France is the #1 tourist destination in the world and it is to your advantage to book as early as possible.
  • Final payment is due 120 days prior to the 1st day of the tour. If you book your trip within 120 days of the 1st day of the tour, your payment in full will be due at time of booking.  
  • 30 days prior to your final payment due date, we will email you an invoice with payment due upon receipt of your invoice   
  • Payment is in US Dollars by Visa, MasterCard, American Express via Paypal, cashier check, personal check or money order from a US Bank 
  • Please note: If you will be paying with a credit card, please send via Paypal   

 

What are your cancellation policies and penalties? Since we must prepay all costs for your tour in advance, we must apply penalties for cancellations as listed below.   Back to Top
  • Your nonrefundable deposit of $500.00 per person is due within 7 days of confirmation  
  • Your final payment is due 120 days prior to your 1st date of travel. If cancelled within 90 days of your trip, 100% of the total les any nonrefundable deposits and or payments in full, as many of our vendors ie: hotels, restaurants, local tour guides often require nonrefundable deposits or payment in full.  
  •  
  • We highly recommend trip insurance to cover cancellation penalties, medical emergencies and other unforeseen events.
  • We recommend Travel Insured International or Travel Guard Insurance for all of your travel/trip insurance needs. Travel insurance must be purchased with in 2 weeks of your deposit in order to cover any pre-existing conditions. We will be happy to assist you with purchase of your travel insurance and any questions or claims you may have.     
  • There are always risks associated with travel. We strongly recommend that you purchase trip and medical/evacuation insurance. Provence and Tuscany Tours LLC., assumes no responsibility for any claim of damages, expenses or liability for any claims, injury, delay, inconvenience, irregularity, loss or damage to person or property or additional costs resulting directly or indirectly from causes that include, but are not limited to, theft, acts of government, delays, cancellations, weather, vehicle problems or acccidents, strikes, illness, quarantine, acts of terrorism or acts of God incurred before, during or after the tour including during transportation by air, car, van, boat or other conveyance. Participants agree that Provence and Tuscany Tours, LLC. shall not be held liable, directly or indirectly, for any injury, death or damage for any reason whatsoever. Provence and Tuscany Tours, LLC. reserves the right to alter an itinerary or accommodations.
  • WAIVER AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY OF AGREEMENT:
  • I confirm and acknowledge that I have reviewed and agreed to travel with Provence and Tuscany Tours, LLC and I am aware of the payments, penalties and conditions. I have reviewed and agreed with the proposed itinerary and other planned activities and I am aware that Provence and Tuscany Tour has the right to change any part of the planned itinerary if unforeseen circumstances arise and they feel it is to our best interests to make these changes. I understand and assume that all travel has risks associated with travel. I assume and accept personal responsibility for any injury, harm, damages or other loss in connection with my tour with Provence and Tuscany Tours, LLC. I hereby release, hold harmless and discharge Provence and Tuscany Tours, LLC and each of its affiliated or subsidiary organizations, directors, officers, sponsors, employees, managers, agents, successors and assigns from all claims for any liability, injury, loss or other damages in connection with my trip, whether or not caused in whole or part by negligence of any organization or individuals mentioned above. This waiver and release shall also apply to my relatives, personal representatives, heirs, legatees, beneficiaries, next of kin, and assigns who might pursue any legal action or claim for such liability, injury, loss or other damages. I confirm, agree and acknowledge that any liability, injury, loss or other damages related to my private tour with Provence and Tuscany Tours, LLC will be covered by my trip insurance. I acknowledge that I have read this Waiver, Release and Agreement and have been given an opportunity to ask any questions regarding this agreement. I am signing this Waiver, Release and Agreement, voluntarily and with full knowledge of its affect and content.

  • Provence and Tuscany Tours, LLC also reserves the right to cancel a tour in the event of an unforeseen event including illness, death or catastrophic event. In the event that Provence and Tuscany Tours, LLC must cancel a tour due to unforeseen events, as listed above, you will be refunded any unused monies such as nonrefundable deposits and payments in full to vendors ie: hotels, airlines, restaurants, local tour guides, vehicles, etc.

  • Accommodations for your stay with Provence and Tuscany Tours, including room, tax and breakfast. 
  • Meals included: 2 meals per day or 3 meals per day at additional cost
  • Part of the fun and adventure is the option to explore some of the local bistros and cafe's on your own. It's always fun to share your "great finds" with your family and friends on the tour. 
  • Recommendations on some of our favorite local bistros and cafes for lunch/dinner on your own    
  • All tours and entrance fees where applicable
  • Visiting the most prestigious Provencal markets
  • Cultural and sightseeing activities
  • Cheese and wine tastings 
  • Optional cooking class for those interested and at your expense
  • Daily options available including: bicycling, hiking, photography, shopping or just relaxing and living "la bonne vie"
  • Explore art galleries, shops and enjoy outdoor cafés throughout the trip
  • Full time services of your professional escorts, all ground transportation throughout the tour by air conditioned and comfortable minivans or minibus
  • Service of a professional certified local tour guide where required 
  • Roundtrip private transfers between arriving and departing airport or train stations
